At Turkana Gear, innovation isn’t just a catchy phrase—it’s the name of the game. Transforming a straightforward adventure soft baggage idea into a product that’s ready to hit the market is no walk in the park. We work relentlessly through each idea to a point where we know what motorcycle riders and outdoor travelers demand. What’s our mission? To whip up soft luggage waterproof gear that truly amps up a rider’s or travelers experience.

Turning Ideas Into Reality

We start our design process by tackling adventure riders’ challenges in the real world. Concepts develop from fleeting thoughts (called “brain farts”) over time.

Kicking Off with Design and Engineering

?This is where ideas are jostled; we beat each other to accept ideas, evolve, and bring them to life through hand-drawn sketches, paper mock-ups, and makeshift prototypes.
?We scavenge for materials like old hostel sheets and airline blankets and Walmart carton boxes to whip up our early prototypes. Who knew crafting could be such a treasure hunt to create prototypes?
?We take a thorough look at every idea to make sure it checks all the boxes for functionality, durability, and affordability.
?Teaming up with our factories means our quirky process turns into designs that are not just wild ideas but actually ready for the assembly line.

Emphasis on design—we focus on what you’ll be using the soft baggage or outdoor product for—people pack differently for a short, lightweight enduro ride than for a long-week adventure trip on a large, loaded adventure motorbike. The same goes for travelers, hikers, kayakers, and overlanders.
